03. The emergence of the dynasty of Manu
The unequalled King Kahalsen Vivahas after having ruled the country for fifty years, crowned his son as king.
Thereafter King Maha Sammata who was desirous of leading the life of a hermit went to a hermitage and departed to heaven leaving his physical body behind.
When the larger tree falls the plant gains prominence. Likewise the son won popularity in the absence of the father.
After having ascended the throne the King toured the country to observe the state of his kingdom and remained for 3 months at the port of Tunmale (presently Trincomalee)
He caused the construction of the Hiru Kon Isuru Kovil (presently Thirukoneswaran) which shone like a crown on top of the Tunmale Mountain which appeared to be a triple pinnacle in the Island of the Helese.
Just in the same manner as a procession marches forward according to the foot steps of an elephant, king Rōja continued the noble services of his father; King Rōja too enjoyed royal power for forty four years and departed to heaven in the manner the sun sets.
