The wisdom of Ganisuru

At once the forces of Prince Sarit came out of the forest and stood around the dead body, overcome with great sorrow.

Ganisuru explained what had happened and appeased them. Thereafter he did what was necessary to the dead body.

Ganisuru saw that if this news was conveyed incorrectly to Kalutota, a massive catastrophe would occur.

Therefore the forces that had come from Kalutara were relieved of their weapons and defained.

When Prince Mahasen reached Kataragama, Ganisuru approached him when he was alone and stated what was in his mind.

“The auspicious time when Universal power will come to both of you is not very far. Let us make use of it as it comes” said he.

The death of the heir to the throne took place free of external forces. But King Taru will never believe this story.

When King Taru comes to know of this, he will march to war. We must go and spread the net before the lion king rises.

If we go at this auspicious moment victory is certain for us. Undying fame shall certainly spread under the parasol of King Siva.”

Thus ends the eleventh canto relating the story of how the quarrel between the Princess that arose by blocking the way after the Sayanwara was settled through the wisdom of Ganidu.
