09. Thi piyum dynasty
 
Siva’s great grand father and Hayagiv’s brother Hari Piyum was a Commander of the army and had been victorious in war.
 
When King Hayagiv had a threat from abroad, this brother helped him to overcome the calamity.
 
Whilst King Haygive ruled from Kataragama, this King Hari remained at Kalutara, confining himself to the administration of Mayarata.
 
there was a King by the name of Jothiya Pathma at Kalutota who was the great grand son of King Hari Piyum. Varamadira, the daughter of the great Asura King Varam became the beautiful consort of King Jothiya.
 
King Jothiya had four very powerful sons, whilst his daughter was well versed in all arts and sciences.
 
The senior King Taru Piyum ruled at Kalutara, whilst the Sub-King Viru Piyum ruled at Tunmale.
 
The brother King Suru Piyum was a great ascetic who had developed ‘dyanas’. The younger brother Nala was a poet of great ability.
