06. The story of the Great King Bali
The dynasty of Manu

Varamandatu’s son Upamandatu ascended the throne and held sway on both shores.

This Hela King reigned from the city of Manu and the city of Lanka abroad (in India)

Since the city of Lanka was the central city of India at that time it was also known there as Madaras (presently Madin)

This King Vivasvath of the Manu dynasty, who gave the Sun Race to India was also called ‘Vaivasvatha’ by the people as a mark of veneration.

Manu’s law became the law abroad too and the people enjoyed real happiness in that atmosphere devoid of fear.

King Vivasvath Manu who knew about both the island of the Helese and India just like the two corners of his garden, gradually passed on to his old age.

In accordance with the Manu customs he went to the forest to live the life of a hermit after 48years of rule, handing over his kingdom to his son Cara.

The King Cara sent spies to all parts of the country to gather information and kept the country in a state of peace.

The king who ruled for 24 years left the human would responding to a call from heaven.

This Manu dynasty spread all over India just in the same manner as a creeper spreads along with shoots.

The Buddha too was born to this Sun Race and the story of the Sakya clan and lineage of Ravana will follow later.
