The Visnu (Narasinha) Disaster

This Sura King was a person who knew the secrets of Magic that was taken away from the land of the Helese by the original Visnu dynasty.

Visnu II, the son of King Patapa who knew the art of magic was desirous of killing this king Hiruniya.

King Visnu summoned a crafty man called Narasinha and told him of his desire.

Narasinhe went to the port of Manu along with one hundred dwarfs clad in saffron clothes.

Even though he was overcome with fear at the sight of the Helese soldiers guarding the port, he displayed his quick wit to suit the situation.

They said that they were on their way to the palace of King Mandatu to display their talants in various arts and prayed that they be allowed to proceed.

On the banks of the Kirindi Ganga which was twice as long as the present one, they could see the capital city of Matis like unto heaven from afar.

Narasinha assembled in the royal garden along with a set of strangely attired drafts and felt at the King’s feet.

“Who else other than I knows the arts of cutting off the neck of short people and making them tall?” said he.

The King became very curious and told the magician to do as he says.

The King who saw the manner in which he cut the necks of his group and made them tall was greatly surprised.
